Poll shows most young adults engage in risky online behaviors
Despite possessing a high level of awareness about threats lurking on the Internet, young adults routinely engage in risky online behavior, says a report from RSA, the security division of EMC, based on a TRU Research survey of 1,000 18- to 24-year-olds.

The big takeaway: most young adults say they worry about privacy and security, yet many persist in behaviors that make them easy marks for cybercriminals.
Other revelations:
- 96% of young adults believe most people their age aren't as careful online as they should be.
- 76% say most of their contemporaries willingly take chances with security in return for lower prices.
- 91% of young adults who use social networks list friends they don't know well.
Most young adults are aware of the risk of losing sensitive data, and have a sense that certain activities, such as posting embarrassing photos, could some day come back to haunt them. Yet they conduct themselves online as if none of that matters, says Sam Curry, RSA chief technology officer.
"What happens in Vegas, most certainly doesn't stay in Vegas, not if you go posting, tweeting and blogging on it," says Curry.
